Business Profile

Founded five years ago, Opportunity Sales, Inc., is a food distributor and liquidating
 company offering its customers a wide variety of branded food items and spot
 market opportunity buys.  President Robert M. Hudson and Vice President John M.
 Shuffler currently hold the company’s stock.  These owners are dedicated to exceeding their customers’ expectations through providing high quality food products and outstanding customer service at aggressively competitive prices. With a combined total of over 30 years of food service industry experience, both of these principals are uniquely qualified for success in this niche market. 

As an employee of Mutual Wholesale / US Foodservice for almost a decade prior to joining Opportunity Sales, Inc., John Shuffler was responsible for sales of over $10 Million per year to a customer base of about 65 firms.  These customers included Prime Vendor Contracts with the U.S. Army and Air Force, Disney’s cruise line and other regional businesses in the state of Florida.  Robert (Mort) Hudson served with the Federal Bureau of Prisons for almost 15 years in the Food Service Division, initially as a baker and progressing to Food Service Administrator.

The owners recognized a need for additional sources of good quality, low cost foodstuff for use in prisons, jails and other institutions and formed Opportunity Sales, Inc. in 1998. The company was initially profitable and has remained so for each of its six operating years.
